Knowing what nurtures, supports and fulfills you is a part of having wisdom. Awareness of what drains, constrains and diminishes you is another factor of wisdom. Designing your days to uplift what enriches you while shedding what keeps you small is how you begin to claim your wisdom.
Start to notice little moments and actions that support you and those that don’t. Commit to this awareness for a week. Take notes. Then you can plan your day to include more of what fills you in good ways and eliminate or change what empties or depletes you. Trust your self.
Think of harvest as a metaphor for your life. Now it the time that we harvest the work we have done in our lives. It is also the time to plant the seeds for what we want to grow and bring to harvest this time next year.
Look around you now and see what you are gathering in to you. Is it bountiful, ripe and luscious? Does it nourish you? Will your harvest carry you through the lean times?
We can gather all manner of good, delicious and fulfilling things to us. It is all a matter of the steps we take in deciding what to plant, how to feed or fuel its growth and how much we weed out while caring for those things we have sown.
I invite you to take some time to consider both this year’s harvest within your own life and to give thought to what you want to bring forth for next year at this time. It is our conscious intentions and actions that bring us bounty.
Standing still for a moment and looking around there is a field of infinite possibilities. Do you know where you are going or do you let the wind of the day pull you along hither and yon? Having a plan can get you to where you want to go and help build the life you dream of having.
If you do have a plan ask yourself some questions, such as: Am I excited about where this plan is taking me? Do I pause to take a look around and notice what is happening in the day? How open am I to new possibilities? Is my curiosity and enthusiasm present? What are the steps I am taking today?
If you don’t have a plan to create the life you want, ask yourself questions like: How is this going for me? Did the day bring me closer to the life I want to live? Do I know what I want? How might my life be different if I had a plan? Am I willing to do the work to build a life that I want to live?
Either way, plan or no plan, as adults each of us is driver in the vehicle of our life. Where are you going?
If you need assitance with these questions I offer life coaching services to assist you with: life design, resilience, healthy relationships, boundaries, self-care, awareness & use of personal wisdom, and goals specific to you. Visit me at https://www.facebook.com/coachingbyshelly/ to learn more.
Often the word surrender is interpreted as quitting or giving up. While it can have that connotation in a siege it has other meanings when it comes to your life. For example, have you ever felt like you were struggling uphill with an impossible load on your back? What if you let some of that stuff you’ve been carrying go? Or perhaps you are doing everything you can to met other people’s agendas. Maybe it is an agenda that they have for your life and you want to please them but the cost to you and your well-being leaves you drained, empty and probably resentful. What would happen if you opened up to whatever uplifts you?
Surrender in these terms is not a passive, “I give up.” Rather it is a conscious and deliberate awareness to take action in your life. It is getting honest with yourself about what is not supportive to your happiness then being open to reframing things or letting them go. At the same time it is vital to notice and then embrace whatever nurtures and uplifts you. In this way surrender becomes the first step in creating a pathway to a life that you love.
“Once upon a time when the wind was new, I had a dream and created you.” The thought in my mind as I awoke today. It captured my attention. I began to wonder about the concept of being fashioned when the wind was still young.
The topic of whether intelligence, science or something much larger conceived of us is another conversation. No matter if you believe in some omnipresent being behind the design or in science alone, go with me for a moment.
Imagine for minute or two that we were dreamt into being long, long ago. It sort of shifts your awareness to the magnificent possibilities that exist within your being. How could it not? I find it difficult to believe that all of the planning to bring us here would not include absolute radiance!
What if my thought is true? How might if shift your life, your dreams and your space in the world if you knew that you really began when the wind was new? I am hoping that it sparks your imagination toward breathing life more fully into your being. What would it take for you to start living from the ancient, creative being that you are in true reality?

Intention is all about where you focus your attention. It’s the actions created based upon what it is that you want. Consider intention the plan that you have made to get there.
We all know that some intentions get swept away much like the waves erasing writing in the sand. What then makes our intention come into existence?
Commitment and a clearly drawn out strategy ensure the probability of success. Sharing your intention and the design for bringing it forth with another person makes it more real. Adding some measure of accountability to that conversation can make a difference in following through on your intentions.
Intentions are the whispers of our hopes. Follow them.
People sometimes let fear limit their dreams and goals that they hold for their lives. These worries might be running under the surface of conscious thought. Whether the fears are known or a vague anxiety they still function as blocks or constrictions in realizing the goals for our lives.
Happily, these restrictions can be lifted. If you would like to know more about how that might be possible please contact me at: email@example.com.
Start living your dreams.
What are the key necessities to moving forward in your life? Can you name those ingredients that propel you toward your dreams and purpose? Knowing them gives you some of the tools to bring the vision for your life into being. Take some time today to make a note of them. Wishing you bliss on the journey to living your dreams.
Living in the “Land of the Free” and feeling free might be considered as an automatic compliment to each other. In an ideal world that concept would be true. For any of you living in this country or others where feeling free is not your experience here are some tips toward gaining a feeling of liberation.
First, think about some things that you want. Then, design some goals one at a time using this process. Clarify what lifts you up or makes life flow with ease as you come up with a goal. Next, design the steps you can take to accomplish the goal. Break it down into realistic, attainable steps. Determine what, if any, obstacles are in the way or may get in the way. Come up with a plan to remove the blocks or view them from a new perspective that can support your goals. Now do the action steps and clear or re-frame any impediments. When you realize your goal take time to celebrate and find a way to reward yourself for making it happen!
As you become more tuned to what you want based upon what is truly meaningful to you, freedom becomes the lift to give you flight. You begin to feel as if you are effortlessly gliding. Wishing you a glorious and liberating trip!

“We all need a sacred witness in life, a person who can listen without judgment while knowing the right questions to ask that continually illuminate our path.” – Caroline Myss – This quote is the essence of Life Coaching.
In Life Coaching people work on their goals, dreams and desires for their life. Within an environment of non-judgment, clients create action steps toward their goals and learn to identify and remove any obstacles in the way of moving forward.
The International Coach Foundation offers this definition of Life Coaching: “Professional Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.
In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice.
Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.” – Source: International Coach Federation (www.coachfederation.org)
