Lifting Up Love Global Intention

Hello everyone:

This is an invitation to join together as a global community to Lift Up Love. I am inviting you to join in Lifting Up Love on August 11, 2018 at 7:00 PDT. (I am in California. Here is a link to find out what time that is for you. http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/) On that time wherever you are in the world pray, align, meditate, hold your focus, drum, do ritual, have ceremony, light a candle, however you offer your intentions do that. Imagine it as manifested as you focus on this intention:

“Love is the prevailing force in people’s hearts, mind and actions. All feel and think from love as they take actions that uplifts love for everyone, thereby creating more kindness, compassion, respect and honor for all of life. And so it is.”

This event came to be because I became overwhelmed with what is taking place in our world. At first this feeling paralyzed me because I felt the trauma and was not certain of what to do. Then this thought occurred to me, “I am not powerless.” None of us are powerless; in fact we are very powerful indeed. As I remembered this truth I began to think about what I could do.

My morning includes holding a positive intention within me and then sending it out into the world. Many of us do this individually and/or within our groups and communities already. My thought was that if we could all focus our intentions, prayers or vibrations on Lifting Up Love at the same time, we would amplify the energy of love, which is the most powerful transformative force in the Universe, to create a new day. A day and world that holds up love in people’s hearts, mind and actions for everything, thereby creating more; kindness, compassion, respect and honor for all of life.

I am inviting everyone that I know to join me in this intention. Actually, I am asking people whom I don’t know too. Some of those people I am listing here to show that we can connect with other communities who might join in this endeavor to usher in this vision. Those I’ve asked to join beyond people I know are: His Holiness the Dali Lama, Deepak Chopra, Oprah, Krishna Das, Deva Premal and Miten, Russill Paul, Native American Elders, Leaders in traditional religions and non-traditional religions, spiritual groups and individuals.

If you share this idea with everyone you know and with some whom you don’t, invite them to join us in Lifting Up Love. Ask them to share with others too. I believe if we all participate we can tip the scales to a more loving world.

With deepest gratitude, Shelly O’Connell

Appreciate You!

As you start and move about your day include some ways to show your appreciation for your self. Take some time to really treasure the uniqueness and wonder of the creation that is wholly, individually and intrinsically you and you alone. It’s a revelation and marvel when you do.

If you are like most of us this is a foreign concept. We are taught to care about others, the environment, our relation to the whole, our impact on the world, etc. Those things are key in being in harmony with life and I believe we need to learn to honor and appreciate ourselves too.

Stand boldly and vibrantly in the glorious expression of you! Don’t shrink, stand down or play small, instead revel in you. Find some ways to offer your gratitude to your self just for being you. Try it today and see what happens. Set a challenge to notice and appreciate at least ten wonders of the miracle of you. Bonus points if you find more than ten. Ready, set and go!

Little Moments of Joy, Why They are Important

Little moments of joy call to us to pay attention to what it is that makes our heart smile. They ring with truth’s tone for the way they instantly restore us to our essential essence. As we experience them we are fully present in that moment.

Awareness of these tiny delights remind us that life is meant to be enjoyed while we are living it. They point the way to creating a life that uplifts and nurtures us.

They may be small, but they are powerful! When little moments of joy happen, notice them, pay close attention. Let them guide you and see what happens. Report back…

Dreaming You into Being

“Once upon a time when the wind was new, I had a dream and created you.” The thought in my mind as I awoke today. It captured my attention. I began to wonder about the concept of being fashioned when the wind was still young.

The topic of whether intelligence, science or something much larger conceived of us is another conversation. No matter if you believe in some omnipresent being behind the design or in science alone, go with me for a moment.

Imagine for minute or two that we were dreamt into being long, long ago. It sort of shifts your awareness to the magnificent possibilities that exist within your being. How could it not? I find it difficult to believe that all of the planning to bring us here would not include absolute radiance!

What if my thought is true? How might if shift your life, your dreams and your space in the world if you knew that you really began when the wind was new? I am hoping that it sparks your imagination toward breathing life more fully into your being. What would it take for you to start living from the ancient, creative being that you are in true reality?

Navigating the Space Between

Finding yourself in a place where what was and what may be can be challenging. You have grown beyond your old life and your new life has not yet fully formed.

It might be tempting to cling to the old since it is familiar. However, it is like wearing a pair of shoes that are too tight and pinch your toes. Trying it would be uncomfortable and part of you would always feel constricted. There is no shrinking possible on your part that will sustain you in a life that you have outgrown.

Turn your eyes toward the future and envision the life that you hope to live. I know it can be scary, maybe even downright terrifying to imagine. Still it calls to you. The tug on your heart will give voice to your dreams.

Negotiating the transition between your old life and the new one requires an honest admission that you’re leaving the old life behind. You already have so quit pretending that you can go back. It doesn’t fit you anymore. Once you have done this you can begin to move toward the new.

Now you can dream and get clear on what you want. You create a specific goal with an achievable plan to bring the life you want into being.

Life coaching can assist you with navigating the space between while helping you to move forward in the way that you design. I would be honored to share this part of your journey with you. Those of you who are interested may contact me via this link:  https://www.facebook.com/coachingbyshelly/

Create your dreams!

Patterns of Behavior

Patterns of behavior are indicators of how things are going. They are a reflection of where we have placed our thoughts and efforts.

When we are able to indentify patterns of behavior in our selves and in others we begin to notice whether those repeated actions serve us in reaching our goals and in being happy. If we discover instances where they do not function in this way we have gained an opportunity to consider what methods might work better.

Cultivating new and healthy patterns of behavior nutures us and moves us toward achieving our goals. If you curious about learning more please contact me for a free discovery session at: seed4change@gmail.com.

Steps to Freedom

Living in the “Land of the Free” and feeling free might be considered as an automatic compliment to each other. In an ideal world that concept would be true. For any of you living in this country or others where feeling free is not your experience here are some tips toward gaining a feeling of liberation.

First, think about some things that you want. Then, design some goals one at a time using this process. Clarify what lifts you up or makes life flow with ease as you come up with a goal. Next, design the steps you can take to accomplish the goal. Break it down into realistic, attainable steps. Determine what, if any, obstacles are in the way or may get in the way. Come up with a plan to remove the blocks or view them from a new perspective that can support your goals. Now do the action steps and clear or re-frame any impediments. When you realize your goal take time to celebrate and find a way to reward yourself for making it happen!

As you become more tuned to what you want based upon what is truly meaningful to you, freedom becomes the lift to give you flight. You begin to feel as if you are effortlessly gliding. Wishing you a glorious and liberating trip!

Nourishment

Beyond the physical need for sustenance there is a hunger. It is an aspect of us that transcends the feeding of the body and the mind. We could term it our spirit, perhaps even our soul and it requires nourishment too.

We can provide food for the body and stimulus for the mind but without fuel for the spirit we can feel stressed out or wonder what is missing from our lives.

Nurturing our spirit renews us while bringing forth our essential light. Nourishment for the spirit and soul can be anything that lifts us and lets us shine. A walk in nature, observing the wonder of children, laughter with good friends, art, dancing, a faith practice are all examples that may nourish us.

The challenge is in discovering what gives you nourishment for your spirit? Once you do, make it a priority for your day. Every day that you give to nourishing your self brings you moments of beauty and deep contentment.

We could all use a bit more of those qualities. What will you do today for nourishment?

Respect Women, Respect Life

“If the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the woman is intact, so too is that of the family, community and society.” – Ancient Indigenous Proverb

This ancient proverb gives me hope because it tells us that the overall well-being of females directly influences all of existence.

Clearly there is much work to be done to have all females, young and old, be in good health in their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects.

That is why women all over the world march today. They know that respect, care and kind regard are the minimum qualities that must be restored to them.

When the welfare of the women is honored, men and all beings in our world will also be well. In fact, these four essences being intact for females ensures that the entirety of life is glowing.

I know that the road has been long and filled with peril, but today there is confidence because the women raise up their knowledge of what is needed to restore wholeness and harmony.

A proverb is by definition: “a simple and concrete saying, popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or experience.” This tells me that the ancient Indigenous proverb written above is known as true, which means that at one time the women’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being were intact. If it was once, it can be again.

To everyone today who is: marching, holding space, doing ceremony and embracing intentions of respect for the women, know that your efforts bring a restoration of harmony for all.

Thank you.
