Women often ask me how to flirt via text message. This type of flirting is actually very nuanced. Primarily because it relies on the person you are texting already having some knowledge of you.
Texts can come sometimes come across as flat, too formal, or vague. It can be difficult to determine their true meaning without seeing someone’s facial expressions, hearing their tone, and/or reading their body language. That is why flirting by text is best done once you have interacted with each other for a while.
For example, I have a bit of a southern accent. So, when I text someone and say, “Sure thing, Sugar.” They have memory of me saying that to them in person. They hear me draw it out, see my raised eyebrow and dimples that accompanies it. They know that I am flirting with them because they experienced it in person from me before. In that way they know that the game of flirting is on in our text communication.
Having said all of that, you can discover playful ways to flirt through text by using your prior methods of flirting with them in person like I described above. You can build upon those interactions with playfulness and creativity.
You might add a kiss emoji or winking emoji to your text. Perhaps a GIF conveys the tone you are setting with the text. Because even with texts it is important to know your intention regarding flirting. Decide if you are being playful or something more, like being suggestive. It is all up to you.
