The mouth and lips play more of a role than you might imagine in non-verbal communication. That is why today’s topic is Flirting with Your Lips. In order to use them to effectively flirt it is helpful to understand their importance in conveying your mood and message to other people.
Your mouth and lips tend to be indicators of what you are feeling. If you are at ease and happy your lips usually form a smile. When you feel stressed or worried your lips are held tightly together. You may have noticed when you are irritated or angry your lips construct a grimace. These are facial cues that people notice, and they respond to them.
It is very easy to incorporate your mouth and lips in flirtation. One of my favorite ways to flirt with my lips is to use the prop of lipstick or lip gloss. This tool draws attention to my lips as I playfully flirt by applying a fresh coat of color to my mouth. After I apply it, I look to whomever I am flirting with and then press my lips together to blot them. Then I give a little smile. This always results in a grin from the other person.
You can blow air kisses, bite your lip, or run your tongue over your lips for emphasis on the flirt. It is possible to incorporate food, a pen, a lipstick or lip gloss applicator to bring the focus to your mouth when you flirt. Go with whatever feels fun and right to you at the time.
